O’s Notes: Trumpeter and vocalist Augie Haas is swinging along with an octet on Live at The Speakeasy, in New York City. Trombonist Hailey Brinnel adds vocals, notably on “The Sound” and “Candy”. Rick Germanson (p) Dick Sarpola (b) and Gary Kerkezou (d) provide a solid rhythm section to build on. It’s a dynamic recording with crisp brass accents and a lot of energetic passion in tunes like “Fly Me To The Moon” and “Jamo Rocks”.
