O’s Notes: Clarinetist Anat Cohen and pianist Fred Herschel are two polished musicians with a great appreciation for each other’s talent. They came together at The Healdsburg Jazz Festival on June 11, 2016. The duo recorded eight selections, four of which are originals including one by Cohen. The music is mostly soft ballads that draw listeners into the music. Fred and Anat feed off of their collective energy to keep the audience engaged from the opener “A Lark” to the encore cover of “Mood Indigo”.
