O’s Notes: Gretchen is on her A game for Live in NYC. This concert was recorded at Rockwood Music Hall during December 2012. She is backed by two trio configurations both featuring Taylor Eigsti on piano and keyboards. Gretchen’s voice is soft and inviting whether she is singing lyrics or vocalese. Parlato’s arrangements are improvisational yet not too distant. She excites her audience with these fresh takes on a very unique set.
