O’s Notes: Lorraine’s Lullabye is pianist Anthony Wonsey’s dedication to the numerous mentors in his career and a testament to the black art form of jazz. He splits the program with five freshly arranged classics and five originals, mostly ballads along with “Blues Foe Hiroshi” and the upbeat “Blacker Black’s Revenge”. Other highlights are “I Didn’t Know What Time It Was” and “Melancholy Mind” featuring vocalist Milton Suggs, Zet Harris (s-sax) and Brandi Disterheft (b).
