O’s Notes: Veteran vocalist Dee Bell has inviting, warm, vocal tones that are surrounded by formidable musicians. Love for Sailin’ Over Seas: Then & Now features Dee on two fresh takes of classics plus eight tunes from three prior albums. Brazilian pianist Marcos Silva is at the heart of most of it and guitarist Romero Lubambo shines on the first two selections. We enjoyed the groove on “Harvest Moon”, “Beijing Partido” with a fine solo by bassist Scott Thompson, and the Latin touch of “Boa Nova“.
