O’s Notes: Don Braden is a polished jazz saxophonist who has performed in clubs around the world. We’ve enjoyed his live shows from Frankfurt, Germany to the late Cecil’s in West Orange, NJ. We are happy to say that he brings the same intensity and passion to his latest recording, Luminosity. Kyle Koehler mans the B3 with Dave Stryker on guitar and Cecil Brooks III on drums to round out his Organix Quartet. The program is split equally between originals and covers and all of the songs reflect Braden’s optimistic approach to life. The good feeling is contagious and is sharing by the band and extends to listeners. Guest artists Claudio Roditi (t) and Sherman Irby (alto sax) play on “Chelsea Bridge” and “Driftin'” respectively accentuating a fine session.
