O’s Notes: Bassist, composer and arranger Mauricio Rodriguez assembles a fine team of musicians for Luz. There is a good combination of ballads and up-beat, vibrant tunes with sweet vocals. Of note are José Pradas violoncello on “Es El Amor” and excellent work by Rodriguez on “Claudia”. There’s a unique rendition of “My Funny Valentine” featuring Adrianna Foster in a duet with Rodriguez.
