O’s Notes: Pianist Bruce Hornsby idolized Marian and has been dying to get on Piano Jazz. This is a great exchange between two musicians with a great deal of respect for each other. While Bruce has jazz roots he ventured into popular music and even played with The Grateful Dead! Hornsby’s left hand is so detailed, you don’t miss the rest of the band. He includes his chart buster, “The Way It Is” and some great dialog with Marian.
