O’s Notes: Katerina sings a wide variety of tunes opening with the “The Gate” in French. Her band is powerful, polished, and swinging throughout the set led by producer, pianist Gary Brown and including bassist Akira Tana. We enjoyed “Can’t Take That Away From Me” featuring vocalist Kenny Washington and warm renditions of classics like “Moanin’” as well as the ballads “Like A Lover” and “Mirror”. There are also three bonus tracks (English translations) that tip this one over the top.
