O’s Notes: Nineteen years ago, Joyce left Pittsburgh for New York to embark on a singing career. She has remained a prominent figure gracing the halls of many jazz clubs, and cabaret venues singing tunes from the American Songbooks. Her voice is deep and warm yet delicate, well paired with these romantic ballads. Pianist Mike Renzi leads the accompaniment with Jay Leonhart on bass, Buddy Williams on drums, guitarist Jay Berliner and the venerable Harry Allen shadowing on sax. There is nothing overdone yet Breach is able to infuse her own passion into each selection making Moments Like This a cool set.
