O’s Notes: Jesse Gelber (p, vocals) and Kate Manning (vocals) are a New York-based duo. They play ragtime and swing like jazz in the early 1900s. “Mandy” has a bit of a country swagger. Charlie Caranicas (t) and guitarists Eric Baldwin and Matt Munisteri pick up the melodies on many songs adding to the variety of the set. The overall feel drifts more towards a stage show than true big band jazz but it is truly entertaining.
