O’s Notes: Mu is a heavy progressive rock collection that is at times, tribal and also eerie. The music is created by French guitarist Richard Pinhas partnering with San Francisco based guitarist Barry Cleveland in a recording that followed several live performances. Brazilian drummer Celso Alberti and bassist Michael Manning join them. The music evolves over four extended songs notably “I Wish I Could Talk In Technicolor”, a 25+ minute experience. It is completely improvisational yet not over the top. The abundance of electronics gives it a futuristic outer space feel that can be mesmerizing.
