O’s Notes: This soundtrack has the Las Vegas cool, showy feel as is appropriate for the movie. It’s about a gambler down on his luck. The songs are both instrumentals and vocals, all well polished. The sound is large, courtesy of a rich brass section: four saxophones, three trumpets and two trombones, all playing in crisp harmony. Vocals come from many but the performances from Diana Krall on “I’ll String Along With You” and with Tierney Sutton on “My Funny Valentine” are worth the price of the CD alone.
