O’s Notes: Puerto Rican saxophonist Miguel Zenón assembles a quartet with Luis Perdomo (p), Hans Glawischnig (b) and Henry Cole (d) for Musica De Las Americas. There is always vibrance in Miguel’s music and this is no exception for a head-bobbin’ dose of Latin flavors. Zenón’s compositions are inspired by the history of the Americas. Highlights are plentiful including “Navegando”, “Imperios” and “Venas Abiertas” with an explosive solo by Zenón.
