O’s Notes: Guitarist Pat Martino is a living legend who burst onto the jazz scene 50 years ago playing with Willis Gator Tail Jackson in Harlem! He’s since recorded countless albums with a who’s-who of jazz and pop artists. Nexus was recorded in the mid-1990’s at The Tim Angel in Philadelphia. It is a live duo recording with pianist Jim Ridl. They share fleeting melodies, play cat and mouse and feed off of each other’s intensity over eight classic tunes including three Martino compositions and two Ridl originals. This is the first release of the classy recording capturing the pair in rare form!
