O’s Notes: Vocalist Ada Bird Wolfe has a deep, rich, passionate voice that amplifies the meaning of even the simplest lyrics as on “An Egg” and “Ashes, Ashes”. She is a great storyteller backed by a fine band including Scott Mayo (sax, b-cl, fl), Dan Lutz (b), Peter Buck (d) and musical director Jamieson Trotter (p). We liked the embraceable “Something Fast, Something Light”, the warm rhythms of “Samba Batucada”, and the balanced approach on “Ocean, Mountain, River, Sky”.
