O’s Notes: This burning session was recorded live at Smoke in New York. Eric Alexander (sax), Peter Bernstein (g) and Joe Farnsworth (d) join Mike (B3). They light it up there every Tuesday and have become a part of New York’s jazz scene. They cow to the audience with popular songs like “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love” and blues on “Bones”. They are enjoying themselves and it spills into the listeners. The solos are alive as the unit anticipates each other’s moves. We’ll have to check out the live show. But until we do, this CD does the trick.
