O’s Notes: Phil plays alto, soprano and tenor sax leading a sextet over a dozen songs. While titled Open Door Samba the music is Latin-infused, contemporary pop, tilted by the inclusion of cello and violin. Chester wrote and produced all of the music. “Round the Block”, “Second Son” and “April Bossa” are highlights and “Cactus Blues” is our favorite.
