O’s Notes: Ozark Concerto finds guitarist, composer Jake Hertzog pairing jazz guitar with The Ozark Jazz Philharmonic conducted by Susumu Wantanabe. It is Hertzog’s first album with such a large ensemble. It’s divided into seven movements: four with the full orchestra, and one each with brass, strings, and saxophones. The arrangements are rich and layered with complexity showing another dimension of Jake’s musicianship.
