O’s Notes: French American vocalist Sasha Boutros grew up in America and then blossomed as a musician in Paris. She exemplifies the diffused boundaries between cultures with music. Paris After Dark is a wonderful example featuring Sasha singing in front of a quintet with Stephane Belmondo (t), Franck Amsallem (p), Hugo Lippi (g), Thomas Bramerie (b), and Tony Robeson (d). The lyrics are in both French and English highlighted by “I’m A Fool to Want You”, “April in Paris”, “Et si tu n’existas pas”, “Love in Portofino”, and “La Belle Vie”.
