O’s Notes: Bassist Phil Morrison has assembled quite a trio with guitarist Barry Green and drummer Von Barlow. Add guest artist Keith Williams (vocals, p) to the mix and you have a winning combination. They open with the title track, a strong tune where Williams immediately establishes his vocal signature, a combination of bop and blues with great phrasing. Green also has a standout performance with well placed solos that have substance along with fine technique. On the lower registers, Phil and Von hold it all together. The song selection is a combination of standards and Morrison originals, a nice blend of ballad, blues and some Latin flavors that result in an enjoyable session.
