O’s Notes: Elvis was introduced to music by his parents, dad, a bebop trumpeter and mom, who ran a jazz club and record store. That early influence gave him a great perspective that blossomed into a very successful career as a singer. He appears on Piano Jazz in fine form with Marion McPartland and Gary Mazzaroppi (b on 5 tracks). As always on piano jazz, the music is interspersed with discussions to support the selections as well as the featured musician. This is yet another winner.
