O’s Notes: The Proverb Trio is a fresh approach to contemporary jazz improvisation that marries contemporary vocals, Latin and fusion beats. Kokkali handles vocal/rap duties with Jason Lindner playing all keyboards and leader Dafnis Prieto on drums. The music is composed by the trio with no preconceived notions. They just flow with their feelings moving from rap to techno-electronic to syncopated Latin to soft rock. The results are pleasant.
