O’s Notes: Talisma is Donald Fleurent (b), Mark DiClaudio (d), Martin Vanier (elect g), Florence Bélanger (vocals, p), Marc Filiatrault (acoust g) and Alain Boyer (d). Fleurent composed all of the music and it is a creative set. The ten tunes are mostly progressive rock though “Basse de Foo” has hints of klezmer music. We liked the vibe of “Ibliss”, the underlying eerie feel of “Od”, and cool funk of “Mondale”. Talisma plays with high energy and intensity courtesy of the two drummers and Vanier’s screaming guitar solos.
