O’s Notes: Canadian guitarist David Blake is now based in Brooklyn where he’s making fresh jazz fusion cutting across a variety of emotions. Warren Louie (b) and Jonas Esser (d) are joined by pianist Dabin Ru as Blake’s trio expands into a quartet for Radio Casual. They swing on “Nut Bread”, relax on “Day Fifteen” & “Into The Marsh”, get syncopated on “Joe Pass”, and groove on the title track. They provide lots of improvisation without alienating their audience.
