O’s Notes: Chris sings, plays guitar, B3, piano, bass, drums, and percussion and wrote all of the music. He shines on guitar on “In Luck This Time”, singing over the funky blues of “Get That Smile” and “Boom Boom”. But he also enlists the support of Clyde Stubblefield (d, vocals), Grant Green, Jr. (g) and several other musicians on selected tracks to add punch to the session. McDermott’ songs have a honky tonk feel that grows on you.
