Ryan is supported by a fine band including Marco Diaz (p, t), Saul Sierra (b), and several percussionists. Special guest Paquito D’Rivera (cl, a-sax) plays on three selections. Ryan’s strong, contralto vocal performance in front of a strong set of musicians leads to a rewarding performance on Recuerdos de mi Madre.
