O’s Notes: Elaine Dame has a strong voice with a passionate style that is enticing. She is backed by a fine band including co-arranger Chris Madsen (sax), Tom Vaitsas (keyboards), Sam Peters (b), and Jon Deitemyer (d). Reminiscing is a collection of classic pop tunes cast in a fresh jazzy mode. Dame’s arrangements are unique, retaining the gusto of the originals while charting new territory. “Tell Me Something Good” features Victor Garcia (t), Madsen stands tall on “Sing Child” with Alyssa Allgood & Christy Bennett adding harmonizing vocals. We also enjoyed “Use Me”, “Midnight At The Oasis”, and “Last Dance”. Dame’s energy is contagious. We’d love to hear her live!
