O’s Notes: Guitarist, arranger Fareed Hague revisits the memory and legacy of the late Pat Martino on Return to the Joyous Lake, originally recorded in 1976. Martino was aware of the new project but died before it’s completion. The new release includes all six originals and a couple of alternate takes. Hague is joined by Kevin Kozol (p), Alex Austin (b), Greg Fundis (d) and several special guests. “Maradi Gras”, “Pyramids”, and “Line Games” are highlights.
