Argentine drummer and percussionist, Luis Garay has assembled his ‘Percussion World’ to perform an entire session centered on beats and beating. His band is Wilber Wood (congas, percussion), Leon Eynatyan (percussion, marimba) and Miguel Alfaro (bongo, timbales). Songs like “Martillo” will help get your blood circulating, as does the opener, “Sambazo” and the melodic sounds of “Afrodezia” are intoxicating. Sacumba is a step away from the mainstream and into the halls of Garay. It is an invigorating session.
