O’s Notes: Trumpeter Thomas Marriott is inspired by what he sees on Screen Time. He leads a quartet with producer Orrin Evans (p), Mark Whitfield Jr. (d), and Robert Hurst III (b). They capture the intended moods: action, romance, and drama across each of the nine selections. The program opens swinging on “Summer Nights” before relaxing on “It’s Such A Good Feeling”, “Dexter’s Tune” and “You Only Live Twice”. There is suspense on “Goodbye”, and they get a little funky on “Pinball Number Count”.
