O’s Notes: Outhead is a contemporary jazz quartet with Alex Weiss (alto & tenor sax), Chatlie Gutke (baritone sax), Rob Woodcock (b) and Dillon Wedtbrook (d) along with several guest artists. They combine free jazz and punk rock for groove that includes some cool riffs and some edgy passages over seven selections. We liked “Glass House and Gift Horse”, “Trotsky” and the swinging “Uncle Ho” best in this sophomore effort from the eclectic band.
