O’s Notes: Tigran Hamasyan is a jazz pianist who has been playing since he was 3 years old. He won the Monk competition in 2006 and has been blazing tails ever since. He assembles a formidable team that includes Ben Wendel (sax) and Nate Wood (d). Lyrics are Armenian but the eclectic funky beats extend the appeal especially on “Drip”. The true essence of Shadow Theater is a dramatic performance. There it is true to form whether you can understand the words or not!
