O’s Notes: Bassist and composer Ike Sturm leads Evergreen, a nine-piece ensemble featuring vocalists Misty Ann Strum, Chandra Rule and Melissa Stylianou. Loren Stillman does nice work on sax notably on “River” as a soloist and in concert with the vocalist. Guitarist Jesse Lewis also stands out on the title track, one of the best selections. The overall theme of Shelter Of Trees is peaceful and relaxing with the second half more focused on religious selections.
