O’s Notes: Danish vocalist Sinne Eeg partners with pianist Jacob Christoffersen on their latest release Shikiori, recorded in Japan and reflecting their cultural experiences there. Shikiori is a place where hearts return, also the home of Japanese bassist Seigo Matsunaga’s grandmother, and the place of this recording! Seigo wrote the liner notes complementing the beautiful work of this duo. The music is inviting, with soft, peaceful tunes that soothe the soul. Eeg shines on fresh arrangements of “Better Than Anything”, “Maria” and “Lush Life”.
