O’s Notes: Wanees Zarour is an accomplished oud, buzuq, percussion and violin player. He assembles an octet to play seven contemporary Middle Eastern inspired songs that are fused with American jazz. We liked the vibe on “Lifta”, the relaxing “Fig Tree”, “Festival”, and the vibrant title track.
