O’s Notes: Simple Gifts is an elegant collection of ten selections all based on the theme of the title. Rich Eames (p), Rob Lockart (woodwinds), Scott Breadman (perc) and Paul Cartwright (violin/viola) provide the backdrop for Krebs vocals, poetic words. They are soft and subtle when she sings and progressively assertive in the instrumental phrases creating a soothing reflective set of freshly arranged classics. “Throw It Away” was our favorite.
