O’s Notes: Ablaye (vocals, kora) and Volker (t) combine to bring us some tranquility. They blend the notes of the kora (like a harp) with African voice and trumpet. It is beautiful music recorded in Senegal and projecting an image of the beautiful country landscapes. They play eight original compositions and two traditional songs arranged by Cissoko. The minimalist approach works well especially on “Badin woo” and “Sara”. This one has healing power even though we could not translate the lyrics!
