O’s Notes: John’s wispy muted trumpet is reminiscent of Miles. He renders a dark, lonely feeling as he tries to tap into your ‘near-sleep’ mode. He sis joined by Kent McLagam (b) and Jeff Jenkins (p). There are soft ballads that parallel pleasant dreams and some free jazz that we likened to restless nights. An interesting amalgamation.
