O’s Notes: This is a solo drum/percussion album performed by Billy Martin, a man who frequents free jazz space on a regular basis. So the thought of what might be coming is almost scary! But we were calmed almost immediately as we settled into the second track. This is by no means standard jazz as Billy uses dynamics and all of his set to make his points. What is apparent here is that Billy is quite a drummer and easily able to hold our attention for well over an hour on this CD and that he has the energy and presence to get it done.
