O’s Notes: This collection of solo piano features ‘stride’ as played by Don Ewell. Three of his recordings are featured: Jazz On A Sunday Afternoon, Take It In Stride and A Jazz Portrait of the Artist. Each has it’s own character and all are great listening. The frolicking spirit helped put you in a jovial mood. Don died in 1983 but his mastery lives on in this 2-CD set.
