O’s Notes: Satya is a trio featuring keyboardist Neil Alexander, saxophonist Frank Doblekar, and drummer, percussionist Phil Raskin. They come together in A Celebration of the Music of Abdullah Ibrahim, previously known as Dollar Brand, the legendary South African pianist and composer. The music is highly engaging, almost seductive, drawing listeners into the space. Suitable for meditation and reflection. On June 17, 2025 we got note of the passing of Phil Raskin from pancreatic cancer on June 9th, one day before his 68th birthday. He will certainly be missed.
