O’s Notes: The legendary Sonny Rollins is still going strong playing his sax with an abundance of energy. He opens with an avant-garde piece that is befitting of its title, “Sonny Please”. He’s quick to follow with a very mellow arrangement of Noel Coward’s “Someday I’ll Find You” which includes a nice guitar solo by Bobby Broom. They cook on “Nishi” and wrap up the set with an original Rollins calypso tune “Park Palace Parade” that includes a fine trombone solo from Clifton Anderson. Sonny shows versatility and depth with a level of energy that is amazing.
