O’s Notes: This is 20th century jazz club in its finest form. Vocalist Allyson Briggsï soft, whispery vocals are backed by a solid rhythm section with Jason Yeager (p), Michael O’Brien (b) and Paul Francis (d). Andy Warren (t) and Ivan Llanes (perc) infuse highlighting accents throughout the 16-song set. All that’s missing is the clinging of glasses, a shot of brandy, and warm good times. Among the best are ‘Zou Bisou Bisou‘, ‘Shoo Fly Pie And Apple Pan Dowdy‘, ‘S’Wonderful‘ and ‘Tenderly‘.
