O’s Notes: La Lucha is a quartet with John O’Leary III (keyboards), Alejandro Arenas (b), Mark Feinman (d) and vocalist Jun Bustamante. They perform a collection of traditional jazz songs from The Great American Songbook along with some of their favorite pop tunes. They perform Standards, Not Standards playing the music they like. All of it has a jazzy feel with intriguing arrangements. We particularly enjoyed their take on “Never Can Say Goodbye” and “Love Me Or Leave Me”. This is a good set that grew on us.
