O’s Notes: The music of Carmichael is a part of almost every American. He wrote the music for songs like “Georgia on My Mind”, “Star Dust”, and “Big Town Blues, songs that are continuously performed by both jazz and pop musicians. The performers for these Beloved and Rare Songs include Bob Dorough (p, vocals), Jim Ferguson (b, vocals), Barbara Lea (vocals) and guitarist Howard Alden, all of who can make music swing. This is an entertaining and enjoyable set.
