O’s Notes: Benny Benack III is a trumpeter, singer, composer, arranger, producer, and bandleader on Third Time’s A Charm. He adds a touch of humor to “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again”. Crisp trumpet notes complement his lyrics across the set. There is also fine work from guitarist Peter Bernstein on three tracks, notably “Thank You For The Heartbreak”. Bria Skonberg sings with him on “In A Mellow Tone”. Chad Lefkowitz-Brown is featured playing tenor sax on two selections blending nicely with Benack on “Twilight Blue.”
