O’s Notes: Saxophonist Jim Snidero follows his highly regarded pandemic recording Live at The Deerhead Inn (99) with Strings, an upbeat swinger including rich ballads. Renee Rosnes (p), Paul Gill (b). And Billy Drummond (d) anchor the rhythm section. “The River Suite 1-3” features the string quartet with Snidero taking the reins on Part 3. We especially enjoyed “Theme For Ernie” (Ernie Henry – sax, ‘26-‘57), “Slipping Away” and “Ventura”.
