O’s Notes: Back in the 1970’s graffiti turned into and art form, break dancing on the streets was popular and the dawn of rap and hip-hop was upon us. Style Wars Plus chronicles the period of NYC hoodlums dominating buildings and subway cars with graffiti. The film captured the ridiculous logic, the graffiti wars and how it ended or at least how it was minimized. But as we travel the world, graffiti is global; an expression of different minds and cultures. For most of us, it’s a different world. The movie served as a good discussion point for my teenagers who also have a tendency of defying logic from time to time.
