O’s Notes: Suite: April 2020 is Brad’s latest solo effort and it in many parts, a reflection of the times. Brad composed this music at his home in The Netherlands sheltering in place during the pandemic. There are times when we have stress, confusion and concerns, we look to music for solace, a way to escape, reflect and Mehldau provides an answer with twelve fresh originals and three complimentary covers notably “New York State of Mind” as he longs for his native home in America. Relevant and worthy, we purchased the signed limited edition vinyl and sound quality was very good.
